I strive to find unique solutions to ordinary problems in all areas of design. I pay attention to close details and fix them whenever needed. Whether I’m laying out a publication, refining a design, or coordinating production behind the scenes, I bring organization and a collaborative spirit to every project.
In the past, I managed and worked for my high school yearbook, where I produced and designed three books using the online program through Walsworth. I taught and assisted other students in different areas such as copy, photography, and layout design. Through this, I was able to host a workshop at the Walsworth Yearbook camp in the summer of 2023, where I talked about the design process and unique problem solving to get new editors engaged with their staff and student body.
I then went on to work with Radford University to coordinate and design the campus’s newspaper and literary magazine. I had to work with different publishing companies to coordinate prices and licensing information to be able to make something enjoyable for the student body. In addition, I managed the staff and gave them clear deadlines on what needed to be done. While creating a cohesive layout and engaging design.
While working for them, I got the opportunity to travel and expand my knowledge. I was able to attend 2 different conferences sponsored by the College Media Association, where I got to hear from people who were working in the field and prepare myself for the future.
After working for them, I moved to Radford University Printing Services, where I learned about the binding of books, cutting paper, and other various items, such as stickers, large format posters, business cards, brochures, and envelopes. I worked closely with the staff to execute these tasks as well as handle customers and make sure they are satisfied with their print materials.
Outside of my design work, you’ll find me lost in the pages of fantasy novels, exploring worlds built from words. If I am not reading, I am hiking and exploring nature with my American Foxhound. Or spending time with family and friends exploring Washington D.C.
